Pay Your Interns Campaign

Over the last few years, we have seen movements demanding paid internships, yet employers are still posting unpaid job opportunities to LinkedIn every day. I decided to design and create a campaign directed at employers that would capture their attention to create change in the workforce.

Creative Process

I started off with sketching out my ideas around the copy, the design, and the research I needed to do to create a thoughtful campaign.

Research

After I made my initial sketches, I then moved on to the research. My goal was to try and come up with key reasons why this would be beneficial to employers.

First Round of Design Exploration

The next stage was to take all of my research, flesh out the copy, and start on the design. I initially designed for a poster. To challenge myself beyond a typical poster design, I shifted to a new medium.

Second Round of Design Exploration

In this round, I decided to go in a completely new direction. Since the goal is to get employers attention, a poster most likely wont achieve that.

Instead, I decided to explore post-it notes, which are found around every office. I explored printing on post-it notes and wanted to create an installation inside a communal office space.

Final Design Outcomes

The final design features a post-it note installation inside of a communal working space with a QR code directing employers to a LinkedIn article that I wrote.
